Privacy Policy
Effective date: 20 August 2026
1. Overview
Aptus ("Aptus", "we", "us", or "our") provides technology operations services — cloud and infrastructure management, network operations, data analytics, and compliance advisory (PCI DSS, DPDP) — to enterprise clients. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through aptus.in (the "Site"), why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you.
This policy applies to visitors of the Site and to individuals who contact us through the Site's forms. It does not govern data we process on behalf of our clients under separate service agreements or data processing agreements, which are addressed contractually with each client.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Contact details submitted through our "Talk to Us" and DPDP self-assessment forms — name, email address, company name, service of interest, and message content.
- Any information you include when you email us directly at [email protected].
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data such as pages visited, time on page, referring URL, browser type, device type, and approximate location (derived from IP address), collected via Google Analytics. See Cookies & Analytics below.
- Standard server log data (IP address, timestamp, requested resource) generated by normal web server operation.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries submitted through our contact and assessment forms;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and understand how visitors use it;
- Communicate with prospective and existing clients about our services;
- Meet legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations; and
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or misuse.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use form submissions for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Cookies & Analytics
The Site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate visitor behaviour and improve the Site — but only if you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit. No Google Analytics script loads, and no analytics cookies are set, until you accept; declining (or simply not responding) keeps analytics off. Once accepted, Google Analytics sets cookies and similar identifiers in your browser to distinguish visitors and sessions, and transmits usage data to Google. This data may include IP address (which Google may use for approximate geolocation), device and browser information, pages viewed, and interactions on the Site.
Google acts as a data processor for this analytics data. You can learn more about how Google collects and processes data at Google's Privacy & Terms, and you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
For a full breakdown of the specific cookies used on the Site and how to manage or disable them through your browser settings, see our Cookie Policy.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell or rent personal data. We may share information with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf, such as Google (analytics) and our email/hosting infrastructure providers, under confidentiality obligations;
- Legal and regulatory authorities, where required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or governmental request; and
- Successors, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality commitments.
6. Data Retention
We retain contact form submissions and related correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and to maintain business records, typically no longer than 24 months from your last interaction with us, unless a longer period is required by law or is necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google Analytics' standard retention settings.
7. Security
As an ISO/IEC 27001:2013-certified organisation, Aptus applies the same operational discipline to its own systems that it applies for clients — including access controls, encryption in transit, and regular review of security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If you are located in India, these rights are available to you as a Data Principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, equivalent rights are available under the GDPR/UK GDPR. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]; we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10. International Transfers
Aptus is based in India. Where data is processed by service providers located outside India (for example, Google's global infrastructure for Analytics), it may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws. We take reasonable steps to ensure such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected on this page; we encourage you to review it periodically.
